Opening Honors

Dr. Seneca Erman’s part of lacrosse history (he played against Jim Brown from Syracuse) continued as he arrived on a practice field at Golf Links Sports Park in Tucson Az., during a 2002 Gamecocks session with lacrosse flowing from his brow and found a home assisting the rebounding young squad with many good lessons. As the Gamecocks split in 2003 to build a second Tucson team from the developed number of freshmen; through the JHS Tucson Scorpions & JHS Tanque Verde Bobcats; which Doc had a grandson playing on, Tucson found itself short of coaches.  At a well deserved retirement maturity, Doc Seneca stepped up and filled in without any complaints or can’t do's… saw a need and handled it, that being the demanding assistant coaching duties for the newly forming Tanque Verde Sabercats high school team.   A starting team with 7 freshmen, a lot of coaching to do was evident and that meant a lot of hours. The 2003 TV Sabercat players certainly got treated to some lacrosse history that most never will. Thank You just doesn’t seem like enough.    Dan May
